Designed and engineered with the OEM standard as the frame, these AutoTecknic dry carbon fibre wing trims are made with 100% dry carbon fibre composite material and fused with abs tabs that result in strong tabs throughout the durable construction for a secure and seamless fit. As an AutoTecknic standard, each trim piece is individually manufactured with precision, resulting in superior paint quality to accentuate any vehicle. The name of dry carbon fibre comes from its manufacturing process. Dry carbon fibre is formed by using a "pre-impregnated" or impregnated piece of carbon material. This piece of carbon is first placed in a mould and then placed in a sealed autoclave to cure properly. This method produces the least amount of waste and forms a lighter version of the carbon than the "wet" method. The autoclave vacuuming process in the production of dry carbon means fewer pinholes and virtually no air pockets in the carbon. The 3.0 liter S55B30 turbo engine is equipped with an indirect charge air cooling circuit. This means that the charge air is not cooled using the ambient air as a cooling medium (as usual), but with the aid of a separate cooling water circuit. A reduction in the cooling water temperature can therefore be directly equated with an improved cooling performance of the charge air. This is precisely where the advantages of the WAGNERTUNING upgrade water coolers come into play. The newly developed competition racing nets of the WAGNERTUNING high-performance water coolers increase the radiator volume of the standard water cooler by 89% for the front and 94% for the side. The ratio between the inner and outer cooling surface generates maximum heat transfer and at the same time allows the adjacent components (e.g. the engine water cooler located behind it) sufficient air flow for heat exchange. Indirect charge air cooling is used in the S55 engine. With indirect charge air cooling, the charge air is cooled by a low-temperature coolant circuit. The low-temperature coolant circuit is then cooled again by the drive air via two air-coolant heat exchangers. A reduced cooling water temperature directly improves the cooling performance of the intercooler. The CSF heat exchanger is installed as an upgrade to the original main heat exchanger and is the largest "drop-in-fit" heat exchanger available on the market for the S55 engine. The CSF heat exchanger has a massive 2-row 42 mm double core with 2x 45 rows and CSF's exclusive B-Tube technology. The B-Tube technology alone enables an increase in cooling efficiency of over 15% compared to the traditional O-tube design of the original heat exchanger. As an OEM supplier with state-of-the-art production machinery, CSF is able to install an extremely efficient fin height of only 6.5 mm for maximum surface contact. The dual-pass flow structure allows the coolant to flow through the core of the radiator twice before exiting the radiator for the lowest possible outlet temperature. The frontal cooling surface increases by ~ 27% compared to the original heat exchanger. Equipped with CNC machined "Quick-Connect" inlet/outlet connections as well as CNC machined brackets and fittings, the CSF heat exchanger is a direct replacement for the original radiator. It can be connected directly and easily to all original hoses, and no grilles, covers or other parts need to be cut or modified - making it a 1:1 replacement. This filter is a proprietary design developed to deliver optimal airflow through our Eventuri housings where the filter is mounted backwards. It is a direct replacement for all our systems fitted with Eventuri carbon filter housings and factory fitted in all new intake systems from 2018. Filtration and construction Unlike many other suppliers who use a conventional filter, we have carried out extensive research and development and invested significant resources in our own unique filter design, which is optimally suited to our patented backward orientated filter shape. The filter media consists of a non-woven mesh and is tested to ISO 5011, which is the same filtration standard as OEM filters. The mesh is double layered and dry which means it will not damage the air mass sensors with oil. Our filters have 2 flow guide cones which have been carefully modelled to direct the airflow as follows: Internal cone - designed to direct the incoming airflow through the filter and create a uniform velocity profile along the entire length of the filter material. This cone effectively helps to distribute the airflow across the filter without turbulence. External cone - CNC machined, with a unique profile that has been extensively optimised to draw the airflow to the centre and smoothly transfer it to the downstream bags. This cone creates a controlled area of turbulence around the tip which increases the convergence speed of the air, giving the connecting hose a higher velocity profile of airflow leading to the motor. Airflow The resulting smooth flow through the filter smooths out at the outlet of the inlet with a high velocity profile. In reality, this means that the engine can draw in air very efficiently and the driver will notice a sharper throttle response as well as the power and torque improvements. If the engine has a turbocharger, it can reach its peak power earlier as it operates with less resistance. Tests have shown that our systems reduce the waste-gate duty cycle by a significant percentage compared to the OEM system. Resulting improvements Through dyno testing, where the Eventuri is sequentially recorded with the original filters against the improved filters, we have found an additional power and torque gain. This confirms our theoretical modelling and proves that the improved filters have a significant impact on the airflow through the intake. The power gains over the original filters vary between vehicles, but here are some of the results we have measured so far. This means that the charge air is not cooled using the ambient air as a cooling medium (as usual), but with the aid of a separate cooling water circuit. A reduction in the cooling water temperature can therefore be directly equated with an improved cooling performance of the charge air. This is precisely where the advantages of the WAGNERTUNING upgrade water coolers come into play. The newly developed competition racing nets of the WAGNERTUNING high-performance water coolers increase the radiator volume of the standard water coolers by 89% for the front and 94% for the side.
