The 8Y RS3 intake system is suitable for all power levels, from standard equipment to those with more than 1000 hp. This intake system has been developed to provide the highest possible flow rate whilst achieving the lowest possible intake temperatures. Every component has been designed to give the turbo a smooth and free flow path. The intake pipe has an internal diameter of 103mm or just over 4? and has a smooth bend from the filter housing to the turbo inlet. The filter itself has been specifically designed for this inlet and has a huge outer diameter of 210mm or 8.3? with a filter area of over 130,000mm^2. The patented Venturi housing has been designed to provide the maximum possible internal volume for the RS3 engine bay and provides laminar flow to the turbo pipe. Finally, the duct seals the filter opening to the front slam plate, but is not restricted only by the stock intake opening. We have raised the front of the duct to now create an additional opening behind the bonnet, equivalent to an extra 7? diameter hole from which air can be drawn in. The resulting system has the ability to lift 840 CFM at 28? H2O while keeping intake temperatures to a minimum with the sealed design. Flow tests We conducted tests with a Superflow SF-1020 to measure the maximum possible flow rate at a pressure drop of 28" H2O. The tests were conducted on the same day under controlled conditions using the same test fixture for each system. We tested our complete intake system against the stock airbox system. The results show how restrictive the stock airbox is, which we were able to improve by up to 58% in maximum possible flow rate. Importantly, this was achieved with a sealed intake system so that intake temperatures are also kept to a minimum. Dyno tests Our RS3 intake system has been tested by various renowned tuners worldwide who have built high performance RS3/TTRS projects for road and track use. The first results come from MSL Performance, who tested our system on a stock 8Y RS3. The tests were carried out back-to-back on the same day. As you can see, there is a measurable gain across the rev range of up to 22bhp. This gain is noticeable even on a standard vehicle on the road due to better throttle response and faster acceleration. Please note the requirements and information regarding this product: - Front and rear height adjustable (front coilover struts, rear springs with height adjustment + dampers) - On vehicles with electronic damper control, this must be deactivated. An electronics kit for deactivation is included in the scope of delivery, depending on the selection. - Dampers have easy-to-use adjustment wheels. Due to their design, they can only be adjusted in the rebound stage when the piston rod is accessible.
