The Competition intercooler has been developed to set new standards. With net dimensions of 620 mm x 440 mm x 65 mm, it offers an impressive external charge air volume of 17.7 liters (compared to the conventional 9 liters). The innovative competition high-performance mesh (Tube Fin) not only ensures sufficient airflow for adjacent components such as the water cooler, but also impresses with its low weight. The intercooler weighs just 9.2 kg in total. The cast aluminium end boxes were developed using the latest CAD technology and optimized using CFD simulations to ensure the best possible internal airflow. After our 8V RS3 system, we have now also included the 8Y system in our programme. The 8Y RS3 intake system is suitable for all power levels, from standard equipment to those with more than 1000 hp. This intake system has been developed to provide the highest possible flow rate whilst achieving the lowest possible intake temperatures. Every component has been designed to give the turbo a smooth and free flow path. The intake pipe has an internal diameter of 103mm or just over 4? and has a smooth bend from the filter housing to the turbo inlet. The filter itself has been specifically designed for this inlet and has a huge outer diameter of 210mm or 8.3? with a filter area of over 130,000mm^2. The patented Venturi housing has been designed to provide the maximum possible internal volume for the RS3 engine bay and provides laminar flow to the turbo pipe. Finally, the duct seals the filter opening to the front slam plate, but is not restricted only by the stock intake opening. We have raised the front of the duct to now create an additional opening behind the bonnet, equivalent to an extra 7? diameter hole from which air can be drawn in. The resulting system has the ability to lift 840 CFM at 28? H2O while keeping intake temperatures to a minimum with the sealed design.
Flow tests
We conducted tests with a Superflow SF-1020 to measure the maximum possible flow rate at a pressure drop of 28" H2O. The tests were conducted on the same day under controlled conditions using the same test fixture for each system. We tested our complete intake system against the stock airbox system. The results show how restrictive the stock airbox is, which we were able to improve by up to 58% in maximum possible flow rate. Importantly, this was achieved with a sealed intake system so that intake temperatures are also kept to a minimum.
Dyno tests
Our RS3 intake system has been tested by various renowned tuners worldwide who have built high performance RS3/TTRS projects for road and track use. The first results come from MSL Performance, who tested our system on a stock 8Y RS3. The tests were carried out back-to-back on the same day. As you can see, there is a measurable gain across the rev range of up to 22bhp. This gain is noticeable even on a standard vehicle on the road due to better throttle response and faster acceleration.

The “Plug & Play” solution for vehicles that have a standard electronic damper adjustment.
KW also offers you the possibility to combine the active standard damper control of your sporty vehicle with the stainless steel KW DDC Plug & Play coilover suspension. In this way, you can continue to use the existing active damper control in your car such as VW Scirocco, VW Golf VI, VW Passat, BMW and other models in conjunction with a stepless lowering.
The best thing about it: Apart from replacing the adaptive standard suspension with the KW DDC Plug & Play coilover suspension, no further conversion steps or even modifications to the on-board electronics are necessary. The adaptive KW dampers are simply connected to the original connectors of your car manufacturer via the KW DDC plug connection. The standard control unit then takes over the regulation and control of the KW DDC Plug & Play coilover suspension.

For example, the KW bottom valve, which can be adjusted in twelve clicks in the low-speed range of the compression damping, gives you the scope to even take the tyre characteristics of your high and ultra-high performance road tyres into account in the suspension set-up.Thanks to the patented compression adjustment at the lower piston end of the stainless steel housing, you don't even need any tools. The adjustable compression adjustment with its twelve precise clicks allows you to influence body roll and body roll movements by hand without having to change the rebound damping to match the spring rate.With the individually adjustable rebound damping of the KW V3, you can directly influence the handling and comfort through the exact click adjustment.
