The intake system of the 991 Turbo Eventuri has been developed through extensive testing under real world conditions with the aim of making the turbos work more efficiently. By replacing the single standard airbox with individual patented Venturi filter housings, the turbos can spool and generate lift with less drag. As a result, wastegate duty cycles are reduced, resulting in peak boost at lower engine speeds and therefore increased power. The two individual filters provide a larger filter area compared to the single plate filter. To keep intake air temperatures low, the venturi housings are also sealed against an air duct that draws in ambient air from the same location as the stock system. As the engine bay of the 911 Turbo is tightly packed, high IATs can only be avoided by a fully sealed intake system.
The Eventuri DifferenceThe 911 Turbo Eventuri system uses our patented carbon fiber housings with our custom Gen 2 filters that provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that creates the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the turbo.
The intake was tested on the road using a Vbox unit to record acceleration from 60-130mph. The tests were carried out on the same section of road again on the same day to minimize the variables. The results show that acceleration times from 60 to 210mph are reduced by 0.2 seconds when only the intake is added, which is a significant improvement at such speeds.

The Porsche GT3 RS intake was developed to provide a more efficient flow path to the engine compared to the OEM airbox. By utilising our patented Venturi housing concept, the airflow can pass through the filters on a much less tortuous path, reducing the drag of the system. In addition, by increasing the total volume in the intake tract, the maximum flow capacity has also been increased. By using customised filters with an outer diameter of 192 mm or 7.5? and a filter surface area of over 110,000 mm^2 each, we have made optimum use of the available space. Intake air temperatures have also been minimised through a sealed system and the use of carbon fibre, which has a low coefficient of thermal conductivity across the wall thickness. The result is a real increase in performance and a noticeable improvement in throttle response.
The Eventuri difference
The 991 GT3 RS Eventuri system uses our patented carbon fibre housing, which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the engine.
Flow tests
We conducted flow tests using a Superflow SF-1020 to measure the maximum possible flow rate at a pressure drop of 28" H2O. The tests were performed on the same day under controlled conditions, using the same test fixture for each system. We tested our complete intake system compared to the stock airbox system. The results show an increase in maximum flow by an additional 120 CFM over the OEM airbox. Importantly, this was achieved with a sealed intake system so that intake temperatures are also kept to a minimum.
Bench test
Our GT3 RS intake was independently tested by ES Motors, who build high performance Porsches in the UK. The tests were carried out on a chassis dyno on the same day, one after the other. As you can see, there is a measurable gain across the rev range, not just at the peak, which is more important as the increased area under the graph shows that the intake has an impact beyond the headlines. This gain is noticeable even on a production car on the road through better throttle response and quicker acceleration. The first chart is the summary of the results and the second is a screenshot of the dyno test to show the gain in the mid-range.

Expert opinion: withoutOur 4.0TFSI V8 EA825 intake system was developed from scratch and the entire air intake duct was optimised. Every component, including the cover, has been designed to allow the twin-turbo V8s to draw in air with less drag, resulting in industry-leading performance gains. The standard airbox lid itself restricts the size of the flow collector that feeds the filter inlets. Therefore, we have increased the height of the centre section of the lid to allow a larger flow collector and larger cone filters to be used. This removes the inherent restriction and sets our intake apart from the rest of the field, which also has to use a restricted header and filter media by using the standard lid. The turbo inlets are up to 43% larger in cross section than the standard inlets and feature an advanced dimpled inner surface to reduce frictional losses between the flow and the wall boundary. By creating an air "cushion" on the wall surface, the airflow can move through the inlets at higher flow rates and lower pressure drop. This allows the turbos to draw in air with less resistance, reducing the wastegate duty cycle, resulting in higher overall performance.

Bench test
This intake was independently dyno tested by Eurocharged Canada. Testing was conducted back to back with the stock airbox and multiple runs were made with each configuration. The dyno results show a consistent power increase across the rev range, which is due to the turbos reaching maximum boost pressure earlier and a lower wastegate duty cycle being required due to the higher efficiency of the intake system. The first diagram shows the results of a vehicle where only the intake has been changed between runs. The second diagram shows an RSQ8 that was run with a stage 1 set-up and a drop-in filter as the base vehicle. The intake was then changed, while the set-up remained unchanged. The increase in performance on both cars can be seen on the road in improved response at part and full throttle, with the car pulling much more eagerly to redline.

All constrictions of the original intake manifold were eliminated and adapted to a standardised cross-section. This means that the intake air flowing through is no longer unnecessarily blocked by changes in cross-section. This results in a reduction of the back pressure in the charge air system. In your vehicle, this results in a noticeable increase in performance (varies depending on the software version).

Testing was performed on a 2017 991.2 Turbo S with GMG Cat-Back Exhaust, IPD Plenum, IPD Y-Pipe & GIAC Stage 1 Tune. During a power sweep test at 27C ambient, the CSF radiator charge temperature is 33°C and the stock radiator charge temperature is 48°C. The CSF 991 Turbo and Turbo-S intercoolers cool 6°C above ambient and 15°C below OEM. Maximum power increase of 41 bhp at the wheel.
These coolers utilise all of our expert cooling knowledge to deliver an incredibly powerful intercooler solution at a competitive price. During development, CSF engineers designed and tested several core sizes suitable for this application and then settled on a 4.5" thick, wind tunnel optimised bar and plate core. CSF engineers also used a special aerospace-grade thermal dispersion coating to help the intercooler system disperse heat faster.
As always, accuracy of fit is incredibly important. CSF engineers utilise the OEM mounting points, clip adjustments and only require a small amount of trimming of the factory intercooler cover to accommodate the huge intercoolers.

How the new Porsche 992 intercooler system worksUnconventional to the typical single, side-mounted intercoolers behind the front door ducts found in previous water-cooled turbo models, the new 992 generation has relocated the intercooler system to the top of the engine bay. The fresh ambient air is now channelled into the intercooler system through redesigned intercooler ducts located under the boot lid.
Cold, fresh air is drawn in by the charge air ducts, which are located on each side of the vehicle's rear side panelling. The air then flows into the inlet tanks on each side of the intercooler system module. The heat transfer process takes place as the charge air moves through the charge air cooler core and the ambient air from the upper charge air cooler ducts flows through the core and exits below the vehicle. The intercooled charge air from both cores is then combined in the single outlet reservoir in the centre section before entering the Y-pipe, which is connected to the engine's throttle body.

Industry-leading dyno testing by M-EngineeringWorking with Jon and Mitch, the owners and lead tuners of M-Engineering, the OEM intercoolers were compared to the CSF High-Performance Intercooler System on World Motorsports' state-of-the-art wind tunnel dyno.Below are the graphs of the data from two test runs, one with the stock intercooler and one with the CSF High-Performance Intercooler. These tests started in 4th gear at 2500 rpm, went through a gear change to 5th and then to redline.
The CSF intercooler system proved to be much more efficient over the entire rev range, especially at very high charge air temperatures (beginning of the run).

Due to the larger and more efficient cores, the CSF intercooler system showed a slightly higher pressure drop with a range of 0.5 to 1 psi more than the OEM system throughout the bench test. This is generally to be expected - more surface area, more resistance - but with increased cooling efficiency offered by the CSF intercooler system.
