Thanks to the newly developed performance high performance mesh (bar and plate), sufficient airflow is maintained for adjacent components such as the water cooler, while the intercooler itself remains light and compact. With a total weight of just 11.9 kg, it is a real lightweight. The cast aluminium end boxes were created using the CAD process and optimized using CFD simulations to ensure optimum internal airflow. An integrated air duct in the end box ensures even filling of the competition high-performance network. The inlets and outlets of the intercooler have been enlarged to Ø 65 mm, which makes it necessary to reinforce the silicone hoses. This means that the charge air cooling process is not realised using the ambient air as a cooling medium (as usual), but with the help of a separate cooling water circuit. A reduction in the cooling water temperature can therefore be directly equated with an improved cooling performance of the charge air. This is precisely where the advantages of the WAGNERTUNING upgrade water cooler come into play. The newly developed competition racing mesh of the WAGNERTUNING high-performance water cooler increases the radiator volume of the standard water cooler by a total of 75 %. The ratio between the inner and outer cooling surface generates maximum heat transfer and at the same time allows the neighbouring components (e.g. the engine water cooler behind it) sufficient air flow for heat exchange.
