Despite its impressive dimensions, the total weight of the intercooler is just 9.5 kg, which saves weight and improves vehicle dynamics. The cast aluminium end boxes of the charge air cooler were optimised with the help of flow analyses in the CFD system in order to achieve outstanding cooling performance with minimum back pressure. The connection diameters at the charge air cooler inlet are Ø62 mm and at the charge air cooler outlet Ø67 mm to ensure optimum flow efficiency. Another highlight is the anti-corrosion coating with excellent heat conduction properties, which is included with all our charge air coolers.
