We present the perfect addition to our F90 intake system to optimise the flow path to the turbos. Our carbon inlets have a larger volume than the stock inlets by maintaining a larger diameter up to the turbos. The standard inlets narrow immediately after connection to the intake tract, which is a restriction, especially at higher boost pressures. We have eliminated this constriction and made the bend as smooth as possible so that the turbos reach maximum boost pressure earlier.
During development, we also tested inlets with larger openings and redesigned the intake tract so that it has an oversized connection to the inlets. However, the tests did not reveal any further advantages, so we continued with this version, which allows us to use our current intake without any modification and at the same time achieve the best performance gains.
The intake was tested on the road with Dragy to record acceleration from 60-130mph. The tests were carried out on the same track and on the same day to minimise the variables. The results show that acceleration times from 60-130mph have reduced by 0.12 seconds, which is a significant improvement at these speeds.
