The OEM Intake, although awkward at first glance, is a very well thought-out system given the available space. The flow path from the filters to the turbo inlets is very direct and does not change direction as abruptly as the usual OEM airbox designs. So instead of a completely new design, we focused on improving the OEM airbox with less restrictive flow and improved temperature efficiency. We developed replacement filters made of non-woven fabric, which have a much higher flow rate compared to the paper filters. To lower air intake temperatures and force air into the airbox, we designed large front vanes that sit behind the grilles. The carbon vanes direct air into the ducts and effectively insulate the intake side of the airbox. The final piece is the carbon airbox lid, which doesn't increase performance, but allows for a more audible intake sound and gives the engine bay a much needed aesthetic improvement.
