Introducing an intake that truly sets a new benchmark for the G8X platform. We have undertaken intensive research and development to create an intake system that not only outperforms the standard vehicle, but is also future proofed for power increases well in excess of 1000hp. Our system is a complete redesign from the airboxes to the turbo inlets with the aim of reducing pressure loss while increasing flow rate and keeping inlet temperatures low. We have maximized the use of available space and used 2 custom made filters with a 40% larger filter area than stock. These are used in our patented Venturi housings to direct the air evenly to the turbo inlets. The inlets themselves have a cross section up to 160% larger than standard and are fitted with an advanced dimpled inner surface to reduce frictional losses between the flow and the wall boundary. By creating an air "cushion" on the wall surface, the airflow can move through the inlets at higher flow rates and lower pressure drop. This allows the turbos to draw in air with less resistance, reducing the wastegate duty cycle, resulting in higher overall performance.

Bench test
This intake system was independently bench tested by BR Performance in Belgium. The tests were carried out back-to-back with the standard airbox and several runs were made with each configuration. The tested vehicle was driven without an activated carbon filter. We compared the best results with the standard airbox and the best results with the Eventuri system. The results on the dyno show a constant increase across the entire rev range, which is due to the turbos reaching maximum boost pressure earlier and having a lower wastegate duty cycle due to the higher efficiency of the intake system. This increase is despite the increase in dyno temperatures from 11.8 degrees Celsius in the tests with the standard system to almost 16 degrees Celsius in the Eventuri tests. The increase in performance is reflected on the road in improved response at part and full throttle, with the car pulling much more eagerly to the red line.

Intake air temperature tests
In vehicles with turbochargers, a lot of heat can build up in the engine compartment, which can have a detrimental effect on performance if the intake system is not sealed against this heat. Even with intercoolers and charge air coolers, it is important to minimize intake air temperatures as these cooling devices operate at a certain efficiency, so the output air temperature is affected by the input air temperature. Restricting the intake tract with open cones, even if they are heat protected, will inevitably draw hot air from the engine bay. Our system, which is completely sealed, solves this problem, while still not restricting the flow path by using larger volumes. To demonstrate this, we recorded the air temperatures with thermocouples immediately before each turbo. The comparisons were made on the same day and under the same environmental conditions between the original and Eventuri. Our vehicle was allowed to warm up and then accelerated from 30mph to 90mph in 6th gear to measure the temperature change on each run. The car was accelerated in 6th gear to measure the temperature change with each run. At 90mph, the gas pedal was released and the brakes applied to 30mph, after which the car was accelerated back to 90mph. A total of 3 pull-throughs were performed with both intake configurations.

KW coilover springs The spring set with stepless lowering KW coilover springs are used to lower the vehicle in combination with the standard dampers. In contrast to conventional spring sets, individual height adjustment is possible within the tested adjustment range. This solution uses vehicle-specific spring mounts with matched KW lowering springs and suitable elastomers as well as dust protection systems. The standard damper system, for example with electronic or hydraulic control, remains active. Setup - sporty and harmonious spring rates The high-quality chrome-silicon steel springs used by KW coilover springs are matched to the respective standard suspension dampers and wheel loads in terms of their spring rate. When developing the respective spring sets, we ensure that the spring rates also harmonise perfectly with the different damper characteristics of your adaptive standard suspension.
