Polyurethane is more resistant to petrol, vapours and the like. It has an ideal remoulding. This ensures that the edge of the filter is 100% sealed even when it is reinserted after cleaning. The edge surface is made from a single mould. With many other makes, pores in the edge material and joining surfaces where the edge is joined together often lead to a crack in the edge, which can result in unclean air being sucked into the engine. With paper filters, the air flow rate is significantly lower and decreases further after just a short period of use.In addition, paper filters must be disposed of after the specified mileage. Now in the updated V2 design, it features sealed filter housings to maintain a more stable IAT even when stationary. The new covers that seal the housings, in conjunction with our blade and shield combination, provide unrestricted airflow while maintaining low IATs through cold air saturation. Our large front air scoops channel ambient air directly into the intake area, ensuring that the engine does not suffer from heat soak. In addition, our gold-coloured, heat-reflecting shields have integrated flow guides that direct the ambient air from the blades into the filters. We have also managed to increase the cross-sectional area of the inlet pipe by over 30% compared to the standard inlet, as it passes through the openings in the struts. The Eventuri difference The F90 M5 Eventuri system uses our patented carbon fibre housings with our bespoke Gen 2 filters, providing an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. Internal volume Another important design feature of the inlet housings is the internal volume of the tubes as they pass through the struts. On the F90 M5, the airbox system must pass through an oval opening in the strut brace on each side before reaching the turbo inlets. We have managed to increase the internal size of our inlets at this junction, resulting in more available volume for the turbos and therefore less restriction. We present the perfect addition to our F90 M5 intake system to optimise the flow path to the turbos. Our carbon inlets have a larger volume than the stock inlets by maintaining a larger diameter up to the turbos. The standard inlets narrow immediately after connection to the intake tract, which is a restriction, especially at higher boost pressures. We have eliminated this constriction and made the bend as smooth as possible so that the turbos reach maximum boost pressure earlier. During development, we also tested inlets with larger openings and redesigned the intake tract so that it has an oversized connection to the inlets. However, the tests did not reveal any further advantages, so we continued with this version, which allows us to use our current intake without any modification and at the same time achieve the best performance gains. The intake was tested on the road with Dragy to record acceleration from 60-130mph. The tests were carried out on the same track and on the same day to minimise the variables. The results show that acceleration times from 60-130mph have reduced by 0.12 seconds, which is a significant improvement at these speeds. The Dry Carbon Aero Splitters are manufactured using signature autoclave technology with pre-preg 3K twill carbon fibre and finished with UV protected high gloss clear coat for the ultimate lightweight, durable and snug fitting splitters. The name Dry Carbon comes from the manufacturing process. Dry Carbon is formed by using a pre-preg or impregnated piece of carbon material. This piece of carbon is first placed in a mould and then placed in a sealed vacuum (autoclave) to cure properly. This particular method creates the least amount of waste and forms a lighter version of carbon than the wet method. The autoclave vacuum process for producing dry carbon means that fewer pinholes and virtually no air pockets form in the carbon. Dry carbon is the highest quality version of carbon products produced.
