The high-quality Tube Fin mesh with internal turbulators ensures optimum air flow and maximum cooling performance. Despite its impressive dimensions, the total weight of the intercooler is just 9.5 kg, which saves weight and improves vehicle dynamics. The cast aluminium end boxes of the charge air cooler have been optimized with the help of flow analyses in the CFD system in order to achieve outstanding cooling performance with minimum back pressure. The connection diameters at the charge air cooler inlet are Ø62 mm and at the charge air cooler outlet Ø67 mm to ensure optimum flow efficiency. Another highlight is the anti-corrosion coating with excellent heat conduction properties, which is added to all our intercoolers. This ensures permanent and optimum cooling with a significant increase in performance. The flow path from the filters to the turbo inlets is very direct and does not change direction as abruptly as the usual OEM airbox designs. So instead of a completely new design, we focused on improving the OEM airbox with less restrictive flow and improved temperature efficiency. We developed replacement filters made of non-woven fabric, which have a much higher flow rate compared to the paper filters. To lower air intake temperatures and force air into the airbox, we designed large front vanes that sit behind the grilles. The carbon vanes direct air into the ducts and effectively insulate the intake side of the airbox. The final piece is the carbon airbox lid, which doesn't increase performance, but allows for a more audible intake sound and gives the engine bay a much needed aesthetic improvement.
