By redesigning the system to allow a much more direct path, the turbo is able to generate boost pressure with less drag and therefore reach the target boost pressure earlier in the rev range. This intake system is designed to provide the highest possible flow rate while maintaining the lowest intake temperatures to achieve a net power gain. The de-throttled flow path also allows for a more pronounced spooling of the turbo, adding to the dynamics of the overall driving experience. The Eventuri difference The Mercedes M139 Eventuri system uses our patented carbon fibre housing, which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo. It's not another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that creates the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce the drag of the turbo. Bench test Our M139 intake has been independently tested by a Mercedes specialised tuner in the UK - MSL Performance. Several runs were carried out with the OEM airbox to get a repeatable result and then again with the Eventuri intake. The tests were carried out back-to-back on the same day. The results show an increase in torque and power across the rev range - not just at peak revs, which is why the car feels more responsive and can accelerate faster through the gears. We use 100% pre-impregnated carbon fibre with no glass fibre, which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to get a smoother airflow.
