Blackboost Conical Twin Flow Synthetic Dry Air Filters

The filter consists of two filter elements, firstly the primary filter element on the outside.
The secondary filter element on the top increases the surface area through which the air can flow. Underneath the secondary filter element is a TPU cone which helps to direct the air flowing through the filter, reducing turbulence and increasing the overall flow rate.

We opted for dry filters as they allow us to cover a wide range of applications involving mass airflow sensors that are damaged over time by oiled filters. With the synthetic cotton filter element, we can work completely dry (unoiled) and still ensure good filtration and airflow.

The layers of the synthetic filter material are better than its non-synthetic counterpart as the layered structure of the synthetic cotton allows a homogeneous airflow through the filter.

The kits include the hoses, the moulded plastic composite adapters and the necessary BlackBoost SS316 clamps to keep the components well in place.

In the latest Mercedes AMG models, the VMAX (speed limiter) and the torque limiter are relocated to a separate CPC module. This means that these values cannot be changed via the ECU control unit software. With this module, we are able to overwrite the CPS module values. We supply brand-new CPC modules that are coded to the specified vehicle VIN. The following modifications to the CPS module are possible: - Removal of the VMax limiter - Removal of the torque limiter - Setting the power display - Deleting the exhaust valve Attention! Our design consisted of 3 main objectives: 1) Increased flow 2) Low inlet temperatures 3) Smooth airflow The first objective was achieved by utilising all the limited space in the engine bay of the C63S, resulting in a 35% higher flow rate compared to the original system. The second goal was achieved by developing a fully enclosed system. The C63S engine bay reaches high temperatures with heat sources such as the turbos in close proximity to the intake system, so it is critical that the intake system remains sealed. The end goal was achieved by designing an organically moulded system with individual rounded panel filters to ensure the airflow path contained no sharp corners, keeping the flow laminar. With smooth transitions from the filters to the turbo inlets, our intake system minimises the creation of turbulence, allowing the turbos to operate more efficiently.When all 3 objectives are achieved, our intake system for the W205 C63(S) delivers on all fronts and allows the turbos to generate boost more efficiently. This leads to improved throttle response and real power gains, which increase the more power the engine has. As there are various turbo upgrades available for the C63/S, we have also developed a special solution for larger turbos. Our C63/S intake is available in 2 configurations: 61 mm ID outlets to fit standard turbos and 76.5 mm ID outlets to fit larger turbos. Power increase: Stage 2 C63S: 22-30hp, 20-24ft-lbPower increase: Original C63S: 10-12hp, 12-15ft-lb Dyno tests were performed on both a full C63S and a Stage 2 C63S with downpipes and software optimisation. Below is the dyno chart for the Stage 2 car that had the same tune for all runs and only the airbox was changed. It is important to note that the bonnet was closed for all runs to simulate road conditions. Dyno tests with the bonnet open - especially with open conical intakes - do not give a reliable indication of how the intake system affects performance. On the road, the bonnet is closed and so all the heat from the turbos is retained in the engine bay. On the C63S, this intense heat is a problem, which is why a closed system is so important. As the higher air temperature is less dense, the turbos don't make as much pressure, resulting in lower power.Here, our fully sealed system shows that power increases linearly after 4800 rpm, where the airflow requirement increases and the original airboxes become a restriction. These power gains were measured after only the original airbox was swapped for the Eventuri intake system - all other changes were present for both the original airbox and the Eventuri intake system.The gains measured on the dyno translate to increased part-throttle and full-throttle response on the road, with the car pulling much more eagerly to redline. Testing was conducted back-to-back on the same day and temperatures were monitored to ensure consistency. The car was first tested with the bonnet closed. We then left the car on the dyno and installed the Eventuri. The car was then driven again - bonnet closed. Several runs were carried out with both configurations to achieve a consistent result. For example, the KW bottom valve, which can be adjusted in twelve clicks in the low-speed range of the compression damping, gives you the freedom to even take the tyre characteristics of your high and ultra-high performance road tyres into account in the suspension set-up. Thanks to the patented compression adjustment at the lower piston end of the stainless steel housing, you don't even need any tools. The adjustable compression adjustment with its twelve precise clicks allows you to influence body roll and body roll movements by hand without having to change the rebound damping to match the spring rate. With the individually adjustable rebound damping of the KW V3, you can directly influence the handling and comfort through the exact click adjustment. Depending on the vehicle type, the rebound valves of the KW twin-tube dampers are adjusted at the upper end of the piston rod via an integrated adjustment wheel or the slip-on adjustment wheel included in the scope of delivery. Due to the filigree workmanship and the use of high-quality components, the KW coilover struts made of stainless steel, for example, are 100 per cent rust-free and have an unlimited service life. In addition to the increased air flow rate, the air filters have many advantages compared to paper filters: Oil-free air filters Pipercross air filters are not oiled and do not need to be oiled. The advantage is that no oil vapours contaminate or damage the car's mass air flow sensor. A dirty or defective mass air flow sensor would return incorrect values, resulting in a noticeable loss of engine power. Increased air flow rate Compared to standard paper air filters, our Pipercross air filters offer a 30% to 40% increase in air flow. This is particularly noticeable in powerful cars when the engine needs to be supplied with sufficient oxygen. No registration necessary Replacing the original paper air filter with a Pipercross air filter is usually not only quick and easy, but also legal. Pipercross air filters may be installed in the car and do not require registration, approval or special authorisation. Washable and reusable Pipercross air filters consist of a special, multi-layered filter foam with different pore sizes (from coarse to fine). This three-layer foam is very easy to clean. The air filter is no longer disposed of, which saves waste and is sustainable.
